CONGREGATIONAL MEETING--The church council calls for a Congregational Meeting to be held at 11:30 AM in the Sanctuary on September 12, 2010 to hear a detailed report from the Pastoral Search Committee, discuss the terms of the Call Agreement, and vote on the recommendation to call the Pastoral Candidate selected to be the 23rd Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Dalton, UCC. Celtic Christianity (its customs and beliefs) luncheon presentation in the church parlor, Monday, September 13, 12:30 PM lead by Irene Jones. Please reserve a place by calling Judy Dodge (684-3117) or the church office (684-1715) a free-will offering will be taken. First Annual Bike2Build—to benefit Habitat for Humanity—September 18, 9AM - 4 PM, Ashuwillticook Trail, Farnam Road, Cheshire—3, 7, 10-mile loop. A BERKSHIRE SUMMIT: Prayer and the Inward Journey. Featuring Dr. Ruth Anderson, Director of the School of Servant Leadership in Greensboro, NC. South Congregation Church, 110 South Street, Pittsfield, MA. September 18, 9 AM -- 3PM. New Member Classes--Interested in joining the First Congregational Church of Dalton? Rev. Imes will be leading classes on Sundays, September 19th and 26th in the Pastor's Study for persons who are interested in joining the First Congregational Church, Dalton. The Adult Study Group Meeting, Thursdays, 1:30 P.M. will be reading and discussing Diana Butler Bass' book A People's History of Christianity. It starts with the church after Jesus through Early Christianity (100-500); Medieval Christianity (500-1450); Reformation Christianity (1450-1650); Modern Christianity (1650-1945) to Contemporary Christianity (1945-now and beyond). Five sessions are planned. Beginning date to be announced. Books cost $11. Order at coffee hour today or call the church office (684-1715) or Jean Dix (684-2879) by Wednesday, June 16th. Please join us or just order and enjoy the book. Youth in grades 6-12—do you have any interest in music?? Kyle Kelson is willing to help you out!! If you play an instrument or sing or would like to learn more about doing either while lifting you gift to God, give us a call. Once you've reached the Great Lakes Scrip Center site, look for the “Retailer List” You can also place your order on-line and pay electronically. Order by the first Sunday of the month and they'll be ready for pick up the second Sunday of the month. One more opportunity to help us balance our budget! Gift card orders received by the FIRST Sunday of the month will be received by the SECOND Sunday of the month.
